Recipe ingredients
- 1 512-g box Merit Selection Chocolate Food Cake Mix
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup (250 mL) cold water
- 1/3 cup (80 mL) vegetable oil*
- 1 250-g package cream cheese*
- 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) each: sugar and orange juice*
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) orange zest
- Red and yellow food colouring
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C.
In a bowl, using an electric mixer on medium-high speed, beat first 4 ingredients together for 5 min.
Pour batter into muffin tins that have been lightly buttered and floured.
Bake 20 min. or until a toothpick inserted in cupcakes' centre comes out clean. Cool.
Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients together.
Ice and decorate cupcakes.
