Recipe ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) vegetable oil*
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 1/4 lb. (575 g) stewing beef
- 4 cups (1 L) beef broth
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) each: Irresistibles sage and rosemary*
- 2 Irresistibles bay leaves*
- Irresistibles fresh ground pepper* to taste
- 30 green beans
- 1/2 green cabbage, cut into wedges
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 Irresistibles potatoes*, cut into six pieces
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) celery leaves (optional)
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
In a large casserole, heat oil and cook onion. Add beef and brown it. Add beef broth and herbs.
Cover and cook in the oven for 45 minutes.
Add beans, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and celery leaves.
Cook for another 45 minutes. and serve.
