Recipe ingredients
- 1 vanilla bean
- 4 cups (1 litre) whole milk
- 2/3 cup (150 mL) short grain rice
- 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) salt
- 1 whole blanched almond
- 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) whipped cream*
- Sugar to taste
Preparation
In a thick-bottomed saucepan, bring milk and vanilla bean to a boil.
Cook just under a boil for 2 minutes. Add rice and simmer on low heat, stirring frequently.
Cook about 45 minutes or until rice is cooked.
Remove from heat and add salt and almond. Cool.
Fold whipped
Suggestion
Sugar can be replaced with a dollop of raspberry, blackberry or cloudberry jam if you can find the latter.* We recommend Selection and Irresistibles products.
