Recipe ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) vegetable oil*
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped fine
- 3 lb. (1.3 kg) extra-lean ground beef
- 1 284-mL can chicken-gumbo soup
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) each: chili sauce* and ketchup*
- Tabasco to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 24 salad rolls
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400?F/200?C.
In a big pot, cook garlic, onion and celery 2 min. in hot oil. Add beef and cook for another 6-8 min. or until beef is thoroughly cooked.
Add soup, chili sauce, ketchup, Tabasco, salt and pepper. Cook on low, stirring occasionally, for 30 min. until all liquid is absorbed. Cool.
Cut rolls open and fill with meat mixture.
Before serving, wrap stuffed rolls in foil and bake for 20 min.
