Recipe ingredients
- 1x 5 lb ( 2,25 kg) French Style roast
- 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, cut into 1-in. (2.5-cm) pieces
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) each: coarse ground pepper and salt
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) Irresistibles balsamic vinegar*
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) Irresistibles Dijon mustard*
- 2 1/2 cups (625 mL) beef broth*
Preparation
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
In an ovenproof dish, put the roast
Slip garlic slices and pieces of rosemary into incisions cut in the meat.
In a bowl, mix pepper, salt, balsamic vinegar and Dijon mustard together. Brush meat with mixture.
Brown 10 min. in the oven.
Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (180°C).
Add beef broth, cover and roast 2 hrs. or until meat thermometer registers 160°F (70°C).
Serve with mashed potatoes and your favourite vegetables.
