Recipe ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) wasabi (Japonese horse-radish)
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) soy sauce*
  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) peanut oil*
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) fresh coriander, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 4 halibut steaks, about 6 oz (180 g) each
  • Salt and ground pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1 lime

Preparation

Mix the wasabi with the vinegar and soy sauce. Add oil, coriander and garlic. Place steaks in marinade, cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.

Preheat barbecue at medium-high.

Place steaks on oiled barbecue grill and cook about 4 minutes per side, or until meat is opaque. Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve halibut garnished with chopped coriander and sprinkled with lime juice.

Suggestion

Using shark steaks instead of halibut.
