Recipe ingredients
- 6 cups (1,5 L) water
- 3 lbs (1,35 kg) fresh pork side ribs
- Marinade:
- 1 cup (250 mL) soy sauce*
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) of each: honey* and brown sugar
- 2 tsp. (10 mL) fresh ginger, chopped
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) Worcestershire sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- Juice of 1 lime
- Ground pepper to taste
Preparation
Pour water into a large saucepan and simmer spare ribs for 40 minutes, covered.
Preheat barbecue at medium high.
In a shallow glass dish, mix all marinade ingredients. Add drained spare ribs and marinate in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours.
Cook spare ribs on the oiled barbecue grill about 10 minutes per side. Brush only with marinade while cooking.
