Recipe ingredients
- 8 cups (2 L) lightly salted water
- 2 lb. (900 g) fresh pork side ribs
- 1 onion, quartered
- Bouquet garni (parsley, bay leaf, thyme)
- To taste salt and pepper
- BBQ Glaze
- 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) Irresistibles extra virgin olive oil*
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) red wine
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) brown sugar *
- 1 cup (250 mL) fresh or frozen raspberries
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup (250 mL) medium sparerib sauce*
Preparation
In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add ribs, onion, bouquet garni, salt and pepper.
Simmer 45 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Preheat barbecue to medium.
In a glass bowl, mix glaze ingredients together.
Place ribs on a sheet of foil and brush generously with BBQ glaze.
Cook 5-7 minutes per side.
Suggestion
Back or side ribs, long or short baby backs, all are excellent on the barbecue.First boil the pork ribs for 45 minutes or until they are very soft. Drain and pat dry.
