Recipe ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) macaroni
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) butter *
- 1 shallot, chopped
- 2 cups (500 mL) milk
- 1 250-g pkg Cream Cheese, cubed *
- 1/2 lb. (225 g) Emmental cheese, cubed
- 2 1/4 cups (560 mL) grated Cheddar *
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) chopped fresh parsley
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) butter, melted *
- 1/3 cup (80 mL) regular breadcrumbs
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400ºF/200ºC.
Cook pasta according to package instructions. Set aside.
In a pot, melt butter over medium-high heat and cook shallot for 1 minute. Add milk and bring to a boil. Lower heat and add cheese and Cream Cheese, stirring until melted. Gradually stir in 2 cups (500 mL) Cheddar. Cook 10 minutes.
Stir in pasta, salt and pepper. Turn out into an 8x15x2 in. (20x38x5 cm) baking dish or ramekins. Bake for 10 minutes.
Combine remaining ingredients, including Cheddar. Spread over the pasta and bake 10 minutes more or until golden brown.
