French Toast Filled with Canadian Cream Cheese

Recipe ingredients
- 12 slices milk bread
- 8 oz (225 g) Canadian Strawberry Cream Cheese
- 6 eggs
- 3/4 cup (180 mL) milk
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) vanilla extract
- Butter to taste
- Icing sugar to taste
- 2 cups (500 mL) mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
- Maple syrup to taste
Preparation
Remove crusts from bread, if desired. Spread Cream Cheese evenly on half the bread slices; top with remaining slices.
Whisk together eggs, milk and vanilla and pour mixture into a shallow dish. Dip each sandwich in egg mixture, turning over to cover evenly.
Heat a bit of butter in non-stick frying pan and fry sandwiches over medium-low heat for 2 1/2 to 3 minutesutes per side or until golden brown. Add butter to the frying pan as needed.
Sprinkle with icing sugar, cut and serve with mixed berries and maple syrup.
Variation
Suggestion
