Recipe ingredients
- 8 mild European sausages*
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) extra light olive oil*
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) long grain rice*
- 3 cups (750 mL) chicken broth*, reconstituted
- 2 oranges, peeled to the pulp and quartered
- 24 pitted black olives*
Preparation
In a saucepan, cover the sausages with water after piercing them with the tip of a knife.
Let simmer over low heat 5 minutes, drain and dry.
In a frying pan, cook the sausages over low heat until they are cooked. Set aside hot.
In a saucepan, heat the oil and brown the onions.
Add the rice, well coated with oil and cooking drippings from the sausages.
Add the chicken broth. Cover and let simmer over low heat about 15 minutes.
In a serving dish, place the rice.
Garnish with the sausages, quartered oranges and black olives.
Suggestion
Sausages must be cooked to the centre before being consumed. As cooking is completed, slit a sausage to make sure no pinkish colour remains.* We recommend Selection and Irresistibles products.
