Recipe ingredients
- 1-9 in. (23 cm) baked pie shell*
- 1/2 lb. (225 g) ham, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) butter*
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) onion, finely chopped
- 3/4 cup (180 mL) fresh spinach, chopped
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup (250 mL) milk or 10% cream
- 1/3 cup (80mL) SIROBEC maple syrup
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sufficient quantity of Emmenthal, grated* to brown
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Put ham in the pie shell. Melt butter and brown onion and then, spinach. Cover ham with spinach mixture.
In a bowl, beat eggs with milk using a whisk. Add syrup and nutmeg. Salt and pepper.
Pour the preparation in the pie shell and sprinkle with cheese.
Cook in the centre of the oven for 20 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
