Recipe ingredients

  • 1 28-oz. (796-mL) can sliced peaches, in unsweetened juice, drained
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) country-style table cream*
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) sugar
  • 1 1/2 oz. (squares) of unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) milk

Preparation

In 4 plates, arrange peach slices in flower formation.
In a pan, heat cream, egg yolks and sugar over low heat, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens (about 15 minutes). Spoon 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) over each peach flower. Broil a few seconds to brown.
Melt chocolate and milk together in the microwave. Pour over broiled peaches.

Suggestion

The unsweetened chocolate's bitter taste is the perfect foil for the sweet fruit and sauce.
