Recipe ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL ) butter*
- 1Tbsp. 15 mL) Irresistibles extra virgin olive oil*
- 2 carrots cut in strips or small cubes
- 1 leek cut into cubes
- 1 red pepper cut into strips
- 2 chopped garlic cloves
- 1 cup (250 mL ) chicken broth*
- To taste pepper
- 2 Tbsp. (.30 mL ) cornstarch*
- 1 cup (250 mL ) milk
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL ) Irresistibles Dijon mustard*
- 1/4 lb (125 g) cooked ham, cut into strips
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) chopped chives or fresh parsley
Preparation
Brown carrots, leek, red pepper and garlic in butter and oil for 3 minutes.
Add chicken broth and cook on low until vegetables are almost cooked.
Add ham and season.
Dilute the corn starch in milk and add to vegetables.
Cook on low heat while stirring until the sauce has thickened, around 2 minutes.
Add mustard and chives.
Serve on pasta.
