Recipe ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) fresh or canned pineapple*, cubed
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) soy sauce*
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) Irresistible red wine vinegar*
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) sugar*
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) ketchup*
  • 1 cup (250 mL) hot chicken broth*
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) cornstarch*, dissolved in cold water
  • 2 pork tenderloins, 1/2 lb. (225 g)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Preheat the barbecue to medium.
In a pan, brown garlic in butter/oil.
Add pineapple, soy sauce and red wine vinegar. Cook 2 minutes.
Add sugar and ketchup. Stir well.
Add chicken broth and season. Bring to a boil.
Stir in cornstarch dissolved in cold water and simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Brush pork tenderloins with sauce and grill 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
Baste often while cooking.

Suggestion

Sweet and sour sauce gives pork tenderloins a tasty protective glaze that keeps the meat moist.
