Recipe ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) all-purpose flour*
  • 8 lamb chops
  • 1 medium egg, lightly beaten*
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) melted butter*
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) bread crumbs*
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) sesame seeds
  • Pinch white pepper
  • Pinch powdered oregano

Preparation

Lightly coat the chops with the flour.

In bowl, mix the egg, lemon juice and melted butter.

In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, pepper and oregano.

Dip each lamb chop into the egg mixture and then the sesame mixture.

Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes.

In a frying pan, grill the chops about 8 minutes or until the desired doneness.

Suggestion

Grill the lamb chops in as little oil as possible as lamb is a fatty meat.

To bring out the full flavour of lamb, it’s best to eat it pink.

Medium or full-bodied wine.
