Recipe ingredients

  • 1 lb. 5 oz. (600 g) beef strips
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) peanut oil*
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) chopped garlic
  • 2 tsp. (10 mL) chopped ginger
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) thinly sliced oyster mushrooms
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) thinly sliced shiitake mushrooms
  • ½ cup (125 mL) thinly sliced white mushrooms
  • 4 green onions, cut coarsely
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) clover honey
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

In a frying pan, heat 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) of the oil.  
Brown the strips. Add the garlic and ginger; cook for 2 or 3 minutes.
Remove from the pan and set aside.
Brown the mushrooms and onions in the remaining 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) of oil.
Cook for 2 minutes over medium heat.
Return the strips to the pan and blend in the oyster sauce and honey.
Correct the seasoning.

Suggestion

Accompaniment:  chop suey with vegetables.
