Recipe ingredients
- 1 lb. (450 g) lean ground Red Grill Angus beef
- ¼ cup (60 mL) caramelized onions
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) minced onion
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) chopped parsley
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) olive oil*
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) HP sauce
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) coarsely ground black pepper
- 1 egg* yolk
- Salt to taste
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) unsalted butter*, melted
- 4 Irresistible hamburger buns*
- 4 tomato slices
- 4 leaves leaf lettuce
Preparation
Preheat barbecue to high.
In a bowl, combine beef with caramelized onions, onion, garlic, parsley, olive oil, HP sauce, pepper, egg yolk and salt. Make patties.
Grill patties until thoroughly cooked and showing no pink. Set aside.
Brush buns with butter and toast on the grill when patties are almost done.
Serve hamburgers with tomatoes and lettuce.
Suggestion
Caramelizing onions is simple: slice onions fine and pan fry over low heat in a little butter and olive oil, stirring frequently to ensure even colouring. They will keep one week in the refrigerator.
