Recipe ingredients
- 2 750-mL bottles dry red wine
- 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) sugar *
- ½ tsp. (2 mL) ground star anise
- ½ tsp. (2 mL) Irresistibles ground cloves*
- ½ tsp. (2 mL) Irresistibles ground cinnamon*
- 1 1-in. (2.5-cm) piece fresh ginger, grated and pressed
- ¾ cup (180 mL) pineapple juice
- ¾ cup (180 mL) Irresistibles orange juice*
- 1½ cups (375 mL) mixture of brown rum, Contra or Triple Sec and brandy or Cognac
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 green apple, sliced
- Some thin slices of fresh pineapple
- Ice cubes as needed
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a big pitcher or a punch bowl.
Refrigerate for 2 hours or more before serving.
Add ice cubes and serve chilled.
