Recipe ingredients
- 6 won ton wrappers
- Sufficient quantity, oil, for frying
- 10-oz (284 g) Irresistibles baby spinach*
- 1 cup (250 mL) water chestnuts, cut into thin julienne strips
- 2 fresh ripe plums, pitted and thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) cilantro leaves, torn
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) Irresistibles teriyaki sauce*
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) rice vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) Irresistibles extra virgin oil*
- 1 Tbsp.(15 mL) sesame oil
- 1 tsp.(5 mL) fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) sugar*
Preparation
To make Crispy Won Ton Strips: cut 6 won ton wrappers into 1/4-inch (0.5 cm) strips. Fry in 1 inch (2.5 cm) of hot vegetable oil for 2 minutes or until golden brown then remove with a slotted spoon and drain well on paper towels.
Combine all salad ingredients except won ton strips in a medium salad bowl.
Whisk together all dressing ingredients and pour over salad.
Toss well to coat and top with won ton strips.
