Recipe ingredients
- 4 chorizo sausages
- 4 Irresistibles Life Smart whole-wheat tortillas (or 4 Irresistibles giant hot dog buns)
- Condiments
- 1 can Selection Mexican-style beans (227 mL [8 oz])
- 125 mL (1/2 cup) sour cream
- 125 mL (1/2 cup) fresh coriander, chopped
- 2 jalapeno peppers, seeds removed, finely chopped (optional)
- Selection mustard to taste
- Selection salsa (medium or hot) to taste
- Monterey Jack cheese, grated, to taste
Preparation
Preheat the barbecue to medium. In a saucepan, cook the sausages for 5 minutes in boiling water. Drain and transfer to the oiled barbecue grill. Cook for about 10 minutes, turning frequently with tongs. Put out condiments in separate small bowls so that everyone can dress their own hot dogs. Just before serving, grill the tortillas for 5 seconds per side.
Suggestion
Serve with plantain banana chips (see recipe on metro.ca) or Irresistibles kettle-cooked chips.* We recommend Selection and Irresistibles products.
