Fresh and Dried Fruit Compote

Recipe ingredients
- 3/4 cup (180 mL) dried figs
- 3/4 cup (180 mL) dehydrated apricots
- 3/4 cup (180 mL) dehydrated apples
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) rum or extract, optional
- 1 1/2 cup (375 mL) Irresistible orange juice*
- 2 cups (500 mL) seedless green grapes
- 1 cup (250 mL) seedless red or blue grapes, halved
- 10 oz (284 mL) mandarin with juice canned
Preparation
In a pan, mix figs, apricots, apples, rum and orange juice.
Cover and bring to a boil. Simmer 10 minutes; remove from heat and let stand 20 minutes or until fruit is plump and soft. Cool.
In a serving bowl, mix fruit, grapes and mandarins.
Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate no more than 3 days.
Suggestion
Let stand: 20 minutesAdd the fresh fruits suggested or any other fruit such as pineapple or kiwi.
Store dried apples in a closed container in a cool dark place, below 15ºC or frozen.
