Beer and Cheese Parties
Thanks to growing
popularity, beer and cheese parties are increasingly in demand. The
basic principle is similar to wine and cheese parties: begin with
mild flavours and end with strong ones.
| Beer | Cheese |
| Mild Beers: Blanche de Chambly, Stella Artois, St-Ambroise Blonde and Leffe | Paillot de chèvre |
| Medium beers: Boréale rousse, Griffon rousse and Smithwick's | Sir Laurier d'Athabaska |
| Full-bodied beers: Seigneuriale, Vondel, Trois Pistoles and St-Arnoldus | St-Morgon |
Remove cheeses from the refrigerator 1 hour before serving and cut as needed.
Arrange cheeses in such a manner that they do not touch one other so that their flavours do not mingle.
Serve various breads (baguette, sourdough, country), nuts and
dried or fresh fruit (apples, pears, melons) with cheese
platters.
Cheese is a powerful weapon in the fight against sugar and cavities. It stimulates salivary secretions that help eliminate sugars, neutralize acids and replenish minerals in teeth.
A diet lacking fibres or fluids, and a lifestyle lacking
exercise are among the main causes of constipation. Cheese,
happily, is not among them.
