Apple, Pear, Cheddar and Date Skewers

Ingredients

Add all
  • sufficient quantiy, Delicious apples, washed and cored

  • sufficient quantity, Bosc pears, washed and cored

  • 10 1/2 oz
    (300 g)

    Selection marbled cheddar, cut into 60 small cubes

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    lemon juice

  • 20

    pitted dates, halved lengthways

  • 20

    8-in. (20 cm) wooden skewers

Preparation

Cut the apples into 40 1-in. (2.5-cm) cubes.

Set aside in a bowl.

Cut the pears into 20 1-in. (2.5-cm) cubes.

Set aside with the apples.

Cut the cheese into 1-in. (2.5-cm) cubes. Set aside.

Toss apple and pear cubes with lemon juice to coat.

Onto each skewer, thread a cube of apple, a half date, a cube of cheese, a cube of pear, a half date, a cube of apple and finally a cube of cheese.
