Ingredients

Add all
  • 1/2 cup
    (125 mL)

    flour

  • 1/2 tsp.
    (2 mL)

    baking soda

  • 1 pinch

    Salt

  • 2 tsp.
    (10 mL)

    honey

  • 1

    egg

  • 6 Tbsp.
    (90 mL)

    water

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    sesame seeds

  • vegetable oil as needed

  • 4

    red bananas

  • sauce:

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    honey

  • 1

    dash orange flower water, optional

Preparation

Mix flour, soda and salt.

Whisk honey and egg. Add water.

Fold liquid mix into dry mix.

Add sesame seeds. Mix well.

In a wok, heat frying oil to 325°F / 160°C.

Slice bananas diagonally 1/2 in. (1 cm) thick.

Coat with fritter batter and fry.

Drain on paper towels.

Mix honey with orange flower water.

Serve bananas hot with flavoured honey.
