    extra virgin olive oil

  • 1

    onion, minced

  • 2

    garlic cloves, peeled, degermed and minced

  • 1 lb
    (450 g)

    leftover roast beef, put through the meat grinder

  • 700 ml

    pesto and sundried tomato pasta sauce

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    dry basil

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    dry oregano

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)


  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/2 cups
    (125 mL)

    cheese for gratin


Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a big pot of boiling salted water, cook macaroni midway through the cooking.

In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook onion and garlic. Add meat and brown it. Add pasta sauce, herbs and paprika, and season to taste.

Mix macaroni and part of the cheese into the sauce. Transfer into a casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese and bake until golden brown.
