Ingredients

  • 1 package

    Doré-mi (or haloumi) cheese plain

  • 4

    deboned chicken breasts

  • 1

    garlic clove crushed

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    ground turmeric

  • 2 tsp.
    (10 mL)

    ground coriander

  • 1 pinch

    ground ginger

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    cumin

  • 1 pinch

    cayenne pepper

  • 3 tsp.
    (45 mL)

    lemon juice

  • 2 tsp.
    (10 mL)

    15 % cream

  • As garnish, fresh mint

Preparation

Cut the Doré-mi cheese into 1 po (2 cm) cubes.

Cut chicken breasts into strips 1 po ((2 cm) in width.

Mix garlic, turmeric, coriander, ginger, cumin, Cayenne pepper, lemon juice and cream.

Coat chicken in mixture and let sit 1-2 hours in refrigerator.

Thread marinated chicken and Doré-mi cheese onto skewers, alternating 2 strips of chicken with 1 cube of cheese.

Grill over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, then salt and pepper to taste.

Sprinkle with fresh mint leaves and serve on a bed of basmati rice. Serve with grilled vegetables.
