Feta and Tzatziki Burger

Ingredients

Add all
  • 1 lb
    (454 g)

    lean ground beef

  • 1

    egg

  • 5 oz
    (150 g)

    crumbled canadian feta

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    dried oregano leaves, crushed

  • 1

    clove garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2

    pita bread, halved

  • leaf lettuce and sliced tomatoes

  • tzatziki:

  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    plain yogourt

  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    shredded English cucumber, squeezed dry

  • 2

    minced garlic

  • 1/2 tsp.
    (2 mL)

    sugar

Preparation

Preheat barbecue to medium.

Preheat frying pan to medium.

Combine beef, egg, Feta, oregano and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.

Shape mixture into 4 round patties.

Cook on barbecue or frying pan until well cooked.

Place patties in pita bread pockets lined with lettuce and tomatoes.

Serve with Tzatziki.

Tzatziki:

Combine all ingredients and mix well.

Add salt and pepper.

Keep the refrigerator until 1 week.
