Fruit salad with honey

    unsweetened pineapple in chunks

  • 1/3 cup
    (80 mL)


  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)

    fresh lime juice

  • 2 tsp.
    (10 mL)

    grated lime zest

  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)


  • 1 pinch

    of nutmeg

  • 2

    mangoes, in chunks

  • 1

    honey melon, in chunks

  • 1

    cantaloupe, in chunks


In a strainer placed over a bowl, drain the pineapples. Save 1/2 cup (125 mL) of pineapple juice. In a saucepan, mix the pineapple juice, honey, the juice and zest of lime. Bring to a boil while stirring until the honey dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool. Add the tequila and nutmeg and mix well.

In a large bowl, place the pineapple, mangoes, honey melon and the cantaloupe. Pour the dressing on the fruit and mix well to coat them. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Distribute the fruit salad to fruit dishes or goblets as you serve it.
