Grilled Bananas and Rum Caramel

Ingredients

Add all
  • 1/3 cup
    (80 mL)

    walnuts

  • 1/2 cup
    (125 mL)

    brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup
    (125 mL)

    35% cream

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    brown rum

  • 4

    bananas

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    butter, melted

  • 4

    commercial crepes

Preparation

Preheat barbecue to high on one side and low on the other.

Place an aluminum plate on the grill of the barbecue and heat the nuts for 30 sec.

In a bowl, mix brown sugar, cream and rum. Add to nuts and mix, let simmer 2 to 3 minutes.

Peel bananas, brush with butter and brown on the hot barbecue grill 2 to 3 minutes, while turning them. Remove bananas and place each on a crepe. Roll each banana up in the crepe, place on a plate and mask with rum caramel.
