Add all
  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    butter, softened

  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)

    Maple syrup

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    dark rum

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    chopped walnuts, toasted

    slices fresh pineapple


In a small bowl, mix butter and maple syrup together. Mix in rum and walnuts and set aside.

Put fruit on a large sheet of aluminum foil, cover with maple syrup mixture and seal foil into an airtight bundle.

Set barbecue to medium and place bundle on the grill. Cook about 10 minutes or until tender, turning bundle once halfway through cooking.

Serve fruit and syrup in sherbet glasses.

Tip: Fruit bundles can be made with brown sugar instead of maple syrup and flavoured with cinnamon.

Accompaniment: Pour a little fresh cream over the fruit or serve with ice cream.
