    (15 mL)

    oil

    onion, chopped

  • 2

    garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 lb
    (225 g)

    lean medium-ground meat (beef, pork or turkey)

  • 1/2 lb
    (225 g)

    plain firm tofu, crumbled

  • 2

    carrots, diced

  • 2

    celery, diced

  • 1

    green pepper, diced

  • 5 1/2 oz
    (175 mL)

    tin tomato paste

  • 28 oz
    (796 mL)

    tin diced tomatoes with herbs and spices

  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    spicy vegetable cocktail

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    dried oregano

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    dried basil

  • 1/2 tsp.
    (2 mL)

    dried thyme

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

In a pan, heat butter and oil. Cook onion and garlic 2 min. Add ground meat and tofu and cook 4-5 min.

Add remaining ingredients, cover and cook 30 min.

Serve with your favourite pasta.

Sprinkle with fresh parmesan to taste.
