  • 4

    chorizo sausages

  • 4

    whole-wheat tortillas (or 4 giant hot dog buns)

  • condiments

  • 8 oz
    (227 mL)

    mexican-style beans

  • 1/2 cup
    (125 mL)

    sour cream

  • 1/2 cup
    (125 mL)

    fresh coriander, chopped

  • 2

    jalapeno peppers, seeds removed, finely chopped (optional)

  • mustard to taste

  • salsa (medium or hot) to taste

  • cheese, grated, to taste


Preheat the barbecue to medium. In a saucepan, cook the sausages for 5 minutes in boiling water. Drain and transfer to the oiled barbecue grill. Cook for about 10 minutes, turning frequently with tongs. Put out condiments in separate small bowls so that everyone can dress their own hot dogs. Just before serving, grill the tortillas for 5 seconds per side.
