    small kaiser rolls

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    olive oil

  • 1/4 lb
    (115 g)

    soppressata or genoa salami, sliced thinly

  • 1/3 lb
    (150 g)

    sliced mortadella

  • 180 g

    sliced provolone cheese

  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    commercial jardinière style vegetables, drained

  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)

    kalamata olives, pitted and chopped


Slice the rolls in half horizontally. Remove the soft crumb and keep for another use.

Brush the insides of the crusts with oil and fill the bottom halves with the vegetables and olives. Layer the top halves with the sliced deli meats and provolone cheese.

Carefully put the halves together and wrap each sandwich tightly with plastic wrap.

Place a weighted plate or heavy pan on top of the sandwiches and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

Slice before serving.
