  • 1 lb
    (454 g)

    lean ground beef

  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)

    caramelized onions

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    minced onion

  • 2

    garlic cloves, chopped

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    chopped parsley

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    olive oil

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    HP sauce

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    coarsely ground black pepper

  • 1

    egg yolk

  • salt to taste

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    unsalted butter, melted

  • 4

    hamburger buns

  • 4 slices

    tomato

  • 4

    leaves leaf lettuce

Preparation

Preheat barbecue to high.

In a bowl, combine beef with caramelized onions, onion, garlic, parsley, olive oil, HP sauce, pepper, egg yolk and salt.

Make patties. Grill patties until thoroughly cooked and showing no pink. Set aside.

Brush buns with butter and toast on the grill when patties are almost done. Serve hamburgers with tomatoes and lettuce.
