Ingredients

Add all
  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    soft margarine

  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    brown sugar

  • 2 cups
    (500 mL)

    quick cooking oatmeal

  • 2 cups
    (500 mL)

    pastry flour

  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)

    hot water

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    baking soda

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp.
    (10 mL)

    zest of orange

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350°F / 180°C.

In a bowl, cream the margarine. Add brown sugar and mix well.

Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Drop 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) dough per cookie on a buttered baking sheet. Flatten with a fork.

Bake on the lower rack at 350°F / 180°C about 10 to 12 minutes.
