Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup
    (375 mL)

    whole wheat flour

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    wheat germ

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp.
    (2 mL)

    table salt

  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    corn flour

  • 2 tsp.
    (10 mL)

    zest of orange

  • 3/4 cup
    (190 mL)

    corn oil

  • 2/3 cup
    (170 mL)

    brown sugar

  • 2

    eggs beaten

  • 1/2 cup
    (125 mL)

    orange juice

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350°F / 180°C.

Sift flour, wheat germ, baking powder, salt and corn flour. Add the zest of orange.

In another bowl, beat the oil, brown sugar, beaten eggs and orange juice.

Fold the dry ingredients into the liquid ingredients. Mix only until the ingredients hold together.

Pour into an oiled square or rectangular cake pan.

Bake at 350°F / 180°C 30 minutes.
