Sesame Beef Stir-fry

Add all
  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    sesame oil

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)


  • 1 lb
    (450 g)

    beef strips

  • 0.500

    red onion, sliced very fine

  • 1

    carrot, julienned

  • 1

    red sweet pepper, julienned

  • 1/2 cup
    (125 mL)

    snow peas

  • 2

    garlic cloves, chopped

  • 1 Tbsp.
    (15 mL)

    grated ginger

  • 1

    lime, juice only

  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)

    Tamari sauce

  • 2 tsp.
    (10 mL)

    sesame seeds, toasted (optional)


In a wok or deep skillet, heat butter and sesame oil on medium-high.

Stir-fry beef, a little at a time, adding oil as required. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, cook onion. Add carrot, sweet pepper and snow peas, and cook until tender-crisp.

Stir in garlic and ginger.

Cook for 1 - 2 minutes.

Deglaze wok with lime juice, and stir in tamari sauce.

Add reserved beef strips and heat through.

Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
