Steaks with Basil Butter

Ingredients

Add all
  • 1/2 oz
    (225 g)

    unsalted butter room temperature

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    fresh-squeezed lime juice

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    grated lime zest

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    chopped fresh basil

  • 1/2

    garlic clove, chopped

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 4

    strip loin steaks

Preparation

Mix all ingredients, except steak, with a fork.

Transfer uniformly mixture to a plate and refrigerate. Cut hardened butter into preferred shapes. Keep pieces refrigerated until time to serve.

Preheat barbecue to medium.

Put strip loin steaks on the grill and cook 3-5 min. per side to desired degree of doneness.

Top each steak with a piece of butter.
