    white sandwich bread, crusts removed

    whole wheat sandwich bread, crusts removed

  • Sufficient quantity egg sandwich filling

  • Sufficient quantity ham sandwich filling

  • Sufficient quantity cream cheese, at room temperature

  • 6

    sticks sliced mild cheddar cheese

  • Sufficient quantity stuffed olives

  • Sufficient quantity sweet pickles


Flatten the bread slightly with a rolling pin and spread with the filling of your choice.

Place a stick of cheddar, or olives and pickles, along one edge of a slice and roll up the bread around it. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Wrap the rolls tightly in plastic wrap and twist the ends well to seal. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.

Unwrap the sandwiches and cut into 3 cm (1 1/2 in) slices.

Arrange attractively like sushi in the bento box and garnish with fresh fruit and Japanese rice crackers.
