Ingredients

Add all
  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    Strong tea, hot

  • 1 1/2 cups
    (375 mL)

    brown sugar

  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    raisins

  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)

    mixed fruit, dried

  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)

    orange juice

  • 1

    egg

  • 2 Tbsp.
    (30 mL)

    butter

  • 1 3/4 cups
    (440 mL)

    flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp.

    baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp.

    Salt

  • 1/2 tsp.

    nutmeg

  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)

    cinnamon

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C.

Mix together: tea, brown sugar, raisins, mixed fruits, orange juice, egg, butter. Let stand until cool.

Add: flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Blend and pour batter into a greased 9 in. x 5 in. loaf pan.

Bake for 1-1/2 hours or until you can insert a toothpick and it comes away clean. Cool, and enjoy!
