The Metro Freshness Guaranteed

The Metro Freshness Guaranteed Promise is valid at Metro and Metro Plus stores across Quebec and for online grocery shopping on metro.ca. If you aren’t satisfied with the freshness of a fresh product you purchased at Metro, we will refund the price of the product (including taxes and other fees, if applicable) plus 10% of the price paid for the refunded product (before taxes and other fees, if applicable). The participating and excluded products are as follows:

Participating Products = FRESH : Fruits and vegetables, refrigerated dressings, meats, deli meats, cheeses, fine cheeses, prepared meals, fish, bakery, dairy products, refrigerated juices, eggs and commercial bread.

Excluded Products = Dry groceries and frozen products: for example, but not limited to, cookies, crackers, canned goods, chips, nuts & peanuts, non-refrigerated dressings, non-refrigerated juices, frozen meats and fish, frozen or dried fruits and vegetables, frozen cakes, etc.

We reserve the right to determine if the presented product is covered by this promise. Given the variable nature of the factors determining a product’s freshness and its condition since purchase, which are beyond our control, we reserve the right to decide, on a case-by-case basis, if the Metro Freshness Guaranteed Promise applies.

The Metro Freshness Guaranteed Promise does not apply to products purchased from our partners Uber Eats, Instacart, Too Good to Go, and FoodHero, to metro.ca orders assembled and delivered by our external delivery partners such as Uber Eats and Instacart, nor to the MPriorities program and the 30% reduced products under the Together Against Waste program.

The returned product must not have been consumed and must not have exceeded its expiration date, if applicable.

In-store: The refund and credit request must be made within 3 days of purchase by returning the product to the store, accompanied by the purchase receipt.

Online: The customer must contact Metro’s Consumer Service (by phone at 1-866-595-5554 or online at centre-aide.metro.ca). The refund and credit request must be made within 3 days of the delivery or pickup date, as applicable. The price paid for the product (including taxes and other fees, if applicable, and excluding any assembly or delivery fees) will be refunded at the time of the request. The 10% of the price paid for the refunded product (before taxes and other fees, if applicable) will be issued as a promotional code to the customer, sent by email and valid for 30 days for a future online order, or in any other form determined by Metro from time to time.

This offer is not redeemable for cash, nor transferable. It cannot be applied to medications and other pharmacy products, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, lottery tickets, and products with a minimum price regulated by law (e.g., milk). We reserve the right to suspend, modify, or terminate this program at any time without prior notice.
