Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
In a bowl mix meatball ingredients and make 1-inch (2.5-cm) meatballs and arrange them on a cookie sheet.
Bake 20 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking time. Meatballs are done when they show no pink. Set aside.
In a saucepan, heat the oil. Add the onion and garlic and cook over moderate heat for 5 minutes.
Add the tomatoes and oregano and cook for 5 minutes. Season.
Pour the meatballs over the sauce for 30 minutes until the sauce is bubbling.
Serve with rice or penne
