Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. In saucepan, melt butter. Cook mushrooms and onions until soft and liquid has evaporated. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Salt and pepper to taste. On bottom half of each croissant, layer 2 slices of ham, a quarter of the cheese and a quarter of the mushroom sauce. Place other half of croissant on top. Bake about 15 minutes or until hot.
