In a pot, heat olive oil on medium and add bacon, garlic, onion, carrots, celery, parsnips and turnip. Cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.Add beans, bay leaf and chicken broth.Cover and simmer 40 minutes on medium-low.Remove bay leaf and season to taste with salt and pepper.
