In a saucepan, melt chocolate with tablespoonful of water and salt. Add sugar, stirring until it is completely dissolved and mixture is smooth.
Add second quantity of water, milk, vanilla and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Simmer 2-3 minutes.
Pour hot chocolate into cups.
