Preheat the barbecue to medium heat. Brown the onion and garlic in a butter/oil mixture for 1 minute in a pan. Add remaining sauce ingredients, bring to a boil and set aside. Thread chicken cubes on skewers, then roll kebabs in Parmesan. Place kebabs, sprinkled with rosemary on a sheet of oiled aluminium foil and barbecue 3 to 5 minutes per side. When cooking time is almost finished, baste kebabs with onion barbecue sauce and continue cooking for 1 to 2 minutes.
