Preheat oven to 400°F/200°C. In a pan, melt butter. Remove from heat and mix in spices. Add walnuts, mixing them to coat them evenly. Spread walnuts on a baking sheet and bake with oven door ajar for 8 minutes or until they begin to brown. Transfer hot nuts to a big bowl and add sugar, mixing well to coat evenly.
