Preheat the barbecue to medium heat.
In a pan, brown shallots and mushrooms for 1 minute in a butter/oil mixture. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
Place turkey steaks on the oiled grill and barbecue 3 to 5 minutes per side.
Serve turkey steaks with sauce and sprinkle with fresh chopped thyme.
