The payment processed on the metro.ca website is, in fact, a preauthorized payment. A charge equal to your order amount plus 25% will be preauthorized on your credit card until we ensure that your entire order can be processed.

Your final order amount will be validated and charged to your credit card on the day of your online grocery delivery or pickup.

Good to know: As soon as your order is prepared, the total is finalized based on that day's discounts, promotions, and prices; product availabilities and actual weights; applicable fees; taxes; and the selected store and services.

Standard Delivery and Pickup

On the day of your delivery or pickup, we will send you an electronic receipt via email with all of your order details. Keep a copy of this receipt for reference in case you have any questions or issues.

Express Delivery and MPriority

A printed receipt with the details of your final charges will be included with your order. Your order history will be updated on your metro.ca profile, too. Keep your copy as a reference in case you have any questions or issues related to your order.

The final amount payable is on your receipt, and our employees will always provide you with quality service, regardless of tip. If you want to leave a tip at pick-up time or delivery, you are welcome to give one in cash.

A tip could be included in your total when your order is fulfilled by one of our external delivery partners. The default amount will be 5% of the subtotal and 100% will go to the shopper. Please note that if there is a change in your sub-total, the initial tip amount will not be adjusted. However, you can change this amount within 2 hours of delivery. If this option is available, it will be offered at checkout.
